2020 Wedding Trends
The latest 2020 wedding trends you should look out for
This week we attended the fabulous networking event organised by Hitched and You & Your Wedding. It was an amazing opportunity to exchange ideas with the editors and other industry professionals. Here are the biggest 2020 wedding trends according to the experts!
2020 WEDDING TRENDS NO.1 – DESTINATION WEDDINGS
It comes as no surprise to us that destination weddings are one of the main trends of 2020. In the past decade, destination weddings have become more and more popular, with 1 in 4 couples deciding to get married abroad and with Italy among the top destinations. The advantages are many: the nice weather is ideal for outdoor weddings, venues and locations are stunning, the food is amazing, you get a lot more for your money and your guests can enjoy a fabulous getaway in the sun.
2020 WEDDING TRENDS NO.2 – OUTDOOR WEDDINGS
Outdoor weddings might be at the top of 2020 wedding trends but in our case they are the norm. About 99.9% of our weddings in Italy take place outdoor! It is in fact one of the main reasons why couples choose Italy to tie the knot. Nothing beats an outdoor ceremony with breath-taking views, a cocktail reception at sunset and a candlelit dinner under the stars.
2020 WEDDING TRENDS NO.3 – INTIMATE WEDDINGS
Because we specialise in destination weddings, many of our couples choose to have intimate weddings and elopements. However, in the past two years we have certainly seen a trend towards small size weddings of maximum 50 guests, both for destination and UK weddings. More and more couples nowadays prefer to have an intimate wedding surrounded by only their closest friends and family. While a smaller wedding does not necessarily mean a smaller budget, it certainly means you have more flexibility when choosing your dream venue, greater attention to detail and a romantic intimate atmosphere.
2020 WEDDING TRENDS NO.4 – SUSTAINABLE WEDDINGS
In the past few years, sustainability has been a huge topic and naturally became one of the top trends in 2020. Of course, sustainability always came as second nature to us. In fact, since we started A Taste Of Beauty our golden rules have always been: reuse, recycle, go seasonal, go local. When it comes to decor, we believe that being environmentally friendly has the added bonus of creating an elegant natural look. So, we always opt for natural materials such as raw linen and cotton gauze. In addition to that, our recommended florists use locally grown seasonal flowers and we often incorporate potted plants and trees into the design. In Italy, local sustainable food produce has been a huge topic for over a decade (we call it “Km zero”). This is why our recommended caterings are environmentally conscious and outsource fresh raw materials, delicacies and wines locally.
